Reel It In: A Spotlight on Fatsack Outdoors

Reel It In: A Spotlight on Fatsack Outdoors

It is time to brag on one of our very own! Nick Rubio, son to Gus and Belinda, has recently been featured in TOWN Carolina for his fishing app, Fatsack. This isn’t the first time that Nick has been recognized for his success. In April of last year, Nick made the front cover of Greenville Business Magazine’s Tech Issue. We love celebrating our team’s accomplishments both in and out of the building industry. Congratulations on your article, Nick!

Hitting the Water

In 2015, Nick launched Fatsack Outdoors as a way to log catches without sacrificing time on the water. He got into competitive fishing in college as a captain on Clemson University’s Bass Fishing Team. As his passion for being on the water grew, he came up with the idea for the Fatsack app. This mobile application strives to improve an angler’s fishing skills while increasing productivity all at the same time.

My dream in bringing a mobile application to market is for it to be a tool used by all fishermen to not only better their skill set, but the overall experience on the water. I want a one-stop-shop for everything you would need before, during, and after your time on the water. My vision goes past the application and into a complete outdoor brand that brings ideas into reality.

Fishing Features

The features of the app go above and beyond an angler’s needs. As the first in the market to offer logging, mapping, social, and analytical functionalities, the Fatsack Outdoors app is in high demand and it doesn’t stop there. Nick and the Fatsack team recently added a new feature as well. This update automates fishing tournament administration and hosting. Therefore, people all over the world can compete in and host virtual fishing competitions.

Whether you are logging the weight of your catch or what the weather was that day, Fatsack does it all. The app also has the ability to use a Bluetooth weighing scale that automatically syncs with the leaderboard.

It’s not a secret that Nick has put a lot of time and effort into creating this one-of-a-kind mobile application. Fatsack Outdoors continues to rise in popularity throughout the industry and even pro angler Hank Parker is on board.

The Gabriel Builders Team is so proud of Nick’s accomplishment and we can’t wait to watch Fatsack continue to grow! In addition to the app, Nick is starting a fishing guide service for lakes in our area. If you want to learn about the best local fishing spots, you can contact him at nick@fatsackoutdoors.com
